The Burning of 4th Street Christian Reformed Church?

There is a story that had a great impact on the congregation at Unity Christian Reformed Church, Prospect Park, New Jersey. With the discovery of family photos of the burned out church, maybe some memories of the impact could be written for those who follow. It is possible my father, Donald, or my uncle, Evert Faber took these pictures just after the fire.

If you have memories of this event, if you remember feelings about what this meant to the church, please send them to me. If my hunch about these pictures is correct, I would like hearing about it.

This is the front of the church, which faces 4th Street. I would like any factual information you may have.

The photographer focuses the camera on the bell that has fallen from the bell tower. The first picture looks West (the sun is to our backs) across 4th street to houses opposite the front of the church. It would be interesting to obtain the addresses of the homes in the picture. It would be interesting to get information about the bell. When it was cast and by whom? The second picture looks into the sun towards a garage along side the burned out church. The sign on the rope says "Danger Keep Out".

This is a view from within the burned out structure. There are 2 unidentified women in the picture on the left. The sign on the stair railing in the right picture says "Danger Keep Out".

I thought it would be interesting to discover the story behind these pictures. What is the smoke stack in the left picture a part of? By the looks of the snow and ice in these pictures, weather had an impact in this fire.
